Our #hesperiausdfood Nutrition Services staff has been doing an incredible job of preparing and serving meals to families through the #grabandgo lunch pickup program and we couldn't be more proud! Carmel has been the #1 lunch pickup site in the district so far, ending this week with 291 meals served just today! They have braved the head and wind, and have done it all with a smile. Way to go, ladies!

Good evening, Cougar families! Here is a brief recap of this evening's phone call update:
*Teachers have started reaching out to families. You can expect contact from your child's teacher by the end of the day on Wednesday.
*Please be sure to update your Parent Portal if you haven't done so already. The link, as well as a video giving step by step instructions, can be found in the News section of our website: www.carmelelementary.org.
*Tech Support: Please be sure to turn on your child's chromebook, have them sign in to their Google account, etc. If you notice any tech issues, please email CarmelSupport@hesperiausd.org or contact the office. We are here to help!
*Nutrition Services will begin providing lunches to HUSD students on the first day of school, Thursday, August 6th. Carmel has been designated as a lunch pick-up site, which is great news! Lunches will be available for pick-up Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm in the regular drive up lane in the main parking lot. Students do not need to be present, however please make sure you have your child's name and ID number handy. Friday lunches will be provided during pick-up on Thursday.
*Chromebooks are ready to go for our TK-1st grade students, as well as new-to-Carmel 2nd-6th graders. Chromebook pick-up will take place in the bus lane on Wednesday, August 5th, following the schedule below. Please use the first letter of your child's last name to determine which window to arrive during.
8:00 - 8:30 A - C
8:30 - 9:00 D - H
9:00 - 9:30 I - N
9:30 - 10:00 O - Z
If your child's teacher has communicated that additional materials will be available for pick-up, please use the same windows as above. Grades TK-2 will be in the bus lane. Grades 3-6 will be in the main parking lot drive up lane. Again, please check with your child's teacher to confirm whether or not additional materials will need to be picked up.

Due to rain in the forecast the Hesperian Ninja Warrior Finals will be rescheduled to FRIDAY, APRIL 3 2020. Elementary will start at 8:00 AM, middle school at 10:15 AM, and high schools at 11:15 AM.

If you have a kindergartener or transitional kindergartener this is a reminder that ALL TK and Kindergarten students will start school at 9:10 and be dismissed at 12:58 p.m. today, Tuesday and Thursday. For Wednesday, ALL TK and Kindergarten students will be attending school at the regular Wednesday time: 9:10 a.m. - 12:13 p.m. Please arrive on time at school and at their bus stops to pick up your students.

Girl Scouts will be here at our school holding a parent information meeting today at 3:45 for all parents who have female students interested in joining Girl Scouts. You will not be allowed to enter the school until after school dismissal finishes at approximately 3:40. The meeting will be held in our multi-purpose room, please follow the signs to find the meeting location.
