In case you missed today’s call from Mrs. Adams:
Good afternoon, Cougar families! This is Mrs. Adams, your proud principal, with a few announcements for you.
As you may have heard, the number of COVID cases in our county is dropping and it is looking good for students to be brought back to class in the hybrid model very soon. As we are making our plans, we will be using the initial survey response that was completed in November (hybrid 2 days in person/3 distance or all distance). If you have changed your mind about how you want your child or children to return, please contact your child’s teacher by no later than Friday, February 25th. We are looking forward to having students back in person!
Additionally, in order to ensure that we have all emergency information updated for your child for this school year, please make sure you have completed your Parent Portal update. These updates include photo/video releases, the parent student handbook, and your transportation selection for this year. This information is absolutely vital for all students. Please contact the Carmel office if you need help with completing your Parent Portal updates. We would be happy to help you! We also have a laptop available in the office for parents to utilize to complete their updates.
And last but not least, In accordance with California State Education Code, residents of the Hesperia Unified School District may apply to enroll their student(s) in a school other than their neighborhood school for the 2021-2022 school year, if space is available. Open enrollment information has been posted on our school website and social media accounts. It is also being sent to all student email accounts. The open enrollment application period for ALL SCHOOLS will be held from tomorrow, February 19 through March 19, 2021 at 5:00 pm. Open enrollment application forms should be submitted during this time frame to the school you are requesting to transfer to or to the Director of Student Services’ office, located at the Hesperia Unified School District Office, 15576 Main Street. Applications will not be approved if they are submitted outside the stated open enrollment timelines.
If you have any questions regarding open enrollment or any of the information shared during today’s call, please do not hesitate to call the Carmel office at 760-947-3188. Have a wonderful afternoon!
Adams:
¡Buenas tardes, familias Cougar!
