Supplemental Learning

Dear Carmel Families,

We hope that you are all safe and well during these difficult times that we hope will soon pass.  As we await the direction from the CDC and other state and local officials in regards to school closures,  HUSD and Carmel Elementary remain 100% committed to providing learning opportunities to our students. Putting first things first, as of tomorrow, Wednesday March 18, we will have included supplemental materials that your students can complete by our hopeful return to school on March 30th.  These materials will not be graded and are optional. There are no specific due dates in which these materials need to be completed. These materials will give your child an instructional purpose and focus while school is closed. We will also be adding links to our school and district websites that your students can link to as well.  This is also optional. If your child has books at home, please continue to encourage them to read 20-30 minutes per day. If available, use paper of any kind to document their reading, and we will be giving them a special prize when we return to school.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday March 30th.  If we are advised of any new information in regards to an extension of school closures, you will be notified.  Please return to our website as we will continue to provide updates.
